It was one to learn from for our Randwick Petersham 4th, who were bested by Manly Warringah 4th by one wicket.
We batted first and finished with 234 on the board from 48.1 overs. Jethro Sharman brought up a quality half-century, finishing with 81 off 92 balls. There were also handy runs from Ashane Jayapragash (41). Five wickets for Michael Counsell of Manly Warringah 4th, who returned five for 62.
In reply, the hosts passed our total, finishing on 9/236 in 46.1 overs. William Nasser made a fine 54 for our opponents, a well-deserved half-century. Rocco Rulli made 43 for the hosts. Benjamin Stares returned figures of three for 43 off ten overs. Sharman chipped in with two for 1.
A narrow loss, but a performance to be proud of. The team will be keen to turn things around after four straight losses.
Thanks to our opponents for the contest.
