Our Randwick Petersham Poidevin-Gray Shield came unstuck as they were undone by Sydney University on a day that didn't go our way.
Sydney University set the target, making 3/275 from 50 overs. Credit to Edward Shand, who made a century (103) for the visitors. Toby Mackenzie was the pick of the bowlers, taking two for 66 off ten overs.
In reply, we finished on 10/257 from 50 overs. Austen Hiskens posted a half-century, making 92 off 105 balls with ten fours and three sixes. Adam Leckey made a cracking 52 off 70 balls, a well-made fifty. Junaid Mansoor provided good support with 31. William Hardy bowled well for our opponents, taking four for 57.
There were some stylish individual efforts to build on.
Congratulations to the visitors on the win.
